Production of recombinant proteins in microalgae
Microalgae is a promising platform to produce recombinant proteins. It grows in simple and cheap media, with eukaryotic machinery to produce complex proteins. We developed plasmid vectors for the production of recombinant proteins, as well as, equipments.
PhD in Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology - USP
The project was part of the program Trust in Science of GSK. The project focused in identifying new drug candidates to Chagas disease from synthetic derivatives and from computational docking and virtual screening.
Stephen Mayfield Lab`s in San Diego has long tradition in recombinant microalgae and technology transferring to industry. I got the opportunity to be part of the lab and observe the development of high tech startups.

Extraction of Adenovirus in aqueous two-phase system
Aqueous two phase system are a mild extraction strategy to recover from small chemical molecules to entire cells. They are composed mostly of water, and can be formed with the combination of polymers, and salts or surfactants. We developed a system to extract Adenovirus particles from crude lysate, while removing cell debris.
Master in Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology - USP
The University of Campinas (UNICAMP) was bestowed in a Biotech pole in Brazil, with several research labs. I enrolled in lab activities in the university to work with biomarkers in E.coli. Outside the campus, I endeavor to develop marker to assisted selection of coffee plants.
